Setup a Printer on Windows 10

  1. Go to start > type Print > Choose Printers & Scanners
  2. Choose Add a printer or scanner

3. After is search runs for a moment choose the link that reads “The printer that I want isn’t listed”

4. On the next screen change the radio button to “Add a printerusingTCP/IP address or hosename”

5. Enter the printers IP {Xerox ends 199 and plotters 198}

You may need to download the drivers > choose “Have Disk” > select the driver

6. Name the printer with the project name and either Xerox or Plotter (if multiple locations with the same project name exist, add the city after project)  e.g. T3 Xerox or Digital Home Plotter [Dallas].

7. If asked do NOT share the printer.

8. Always print a test page and verify the user has it.

Xerox Copiers –  To add a scanning shortcut, browse to the printer > Scans > add a link with the same name to the desktop ending in Scans
